Personal training in North LondonI listen to quite a few motivational speeches and I find them really inspiring. It’s that feeling ‘well if they can do it so can I’ which is the desired outcome and it is totally true. Anyone can do what they want to do if they really want it. For some it may happen in a moment and for others it may take a little longer.

Having a holiday was great for me because it gave me chance to re-focus myself about what I want to do for my own health, fitness and goals and also for my business. Sometimes it’s easier to focus on one bit of our lives and ignore the other parts and for women we tend to put other people first and not ourselves. But it’s remembering that we are important too.
And all you have to do is look where you want to go and you will go where you look.
I loved this talk from Hillary Biscay, she talks about this from the view of cycling a windy downhill route fast.

Keep your eye on the furthest part of the corner, turn your head to face it and then your body will follow, but our initial thoughts are to look at the other side to the safety barrier and cliff edge. If you do the latter you will end up over the cliff because your body will follow your eyes.

Keeping your focus allows you to concentrate on getting to where you want to go and the negativity, doubt and the bright shiny objects staying to a minimum…where they need to be.
I also loved her talk because she talked about turning up, keep turning up and then you will eventually get to where you want to be. She is talking about a mega iron man race that she won, but this relates to everything we do in life. If you want to eat healthy keep buying healthy food, if you want to run 10K or a marathon keep turning up to training sessions, if you want to be anything keep turning up and practicing.
Nobody is like you, nobody has your story, nobody will achieve your achievements the way you do and they won’t mean the same to anyone else.
Whatever it is that you want, look at it, turn to face it and your body will follow.
